Judy Ruks (piano)

Judy Ruks was born in 1980 in Oosterbeek, the Netherlands and began playing piano at the age of 7. She studied classical piano from 1998 till 2004 at the “Hogeschool voor de Kunsten” in Arnhem, the Netherlands, with the professors Frank Peters and Frank van de Laar.

From 2002 till 2006 she studied tango piano at the “Academy for World Music” (Codarts) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with Wim Warman, Gustavo Beytelmann and Leo Vervelde.

Since 2007 she lives in Stuttgart and is working as tango pianist, teacher and conductor. Next to “Cuarteto Rotterdam” she is director of the “Orquesta Atípica Stuttgart”.

Besides that she is playing in different formations and with different tango musicians from Europe and Argentina, like “Narcotango”, “Luis Borda ensemble”, the duo with the singer Kathrin Schweizer and with singer/flute-player Cristian Andrès Faig.

She is cooperating with the organization “Tango Sin Fin” from Buenos Aires and organizer of the meeting “Tango For Musicians” in Europe.
