CUARTETO ROTTERDAM: Yunta De Oro This very remarkable German tango ensemble consists of excellent musicians featuring elaborate skills, great ease and a deep understanding of the soul of music and their instruments. Founded in 2004, the quartet has gained a privileged position in the world of tango today – thanks to the passion radiating from every tone of the pieces they perform. By using innovative adaptations, they have created a unique sound – their excellent taste and great sense of tango can be perceived in every second of their CD Yunta de Oro. The four musicians perform their broad repertoire of traditional and modern tango pieces by demonstrating a precise interplay and a profound knowledge of tango. Cuarteto Rotterdam consists of Michael Dolak (bandoneon), Susanne Cordula Welsch (violin), Judy Ruks (piano) and Frances Dorling (double bass). Especially striking are their interpretations of the rousing tango pieces Danzarín, Desde el alma, Canaro en París, Bordoneo, Por una cabeza and Escualo. Tango Reporter, August 2008 |
